Consider these seven steps to getting the best out of your employees:
1. Sell them the organizational vision to run with: Making your employees understand the organizational vision enables them to key into it so that they can effectively perform their task to contribute to the attainment of the vision. But doing this, you must take time to remind them of what the end result will be and inspire them despite challenges to focus on the vision.
2. Make public your high expectation of them: Quite often people tend to rise to your expectation of them if you inspire them by expressing your belief in their ability to deliver on their task even when they make mistakes. That way they will be spurred to meet your expectation to please you.
3. Set Goals for the organization and for them: An easy and fast way to get result in life and business is to set goals to help you achieve your vision. Thus, set short, medium and long term goals for the organization and for each department or staff.
Let your employees know their targets. Therefore, spell-out your expectation on measurable and understandable terms to them. Break major projects into smaller parts to make it easy to accomplish.
